About

Prof. Dr. Mehmet Tahir Gökdemir was born in Mardin in 1971. After graduating from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 1997, he began his medical career and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Dicle University in 2008.

Following a faculty position and department chairmanship at Harran University, and founding the Emergency Medicine Clinic at Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital in Diyarbakır, he returned to his hometown Mardin in 2020 to establish the Department of Emergency Medicine at Mardin Artuklu University Faculty of Medicine.

He combines his scientific background in emergency medicine with certified practice in Traditional and Complementary Medicine, offering his patients an evidence-based, holistic approach to health. He is married and has two children.

    Medical Doctor

    Graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine and began his medical career.

  2. 2008

    Emergency Medicine Specialist

    Completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Dicle University Faculty of Medicine.

  3. 2010

    Assistant Professor — Harran University

    Joined the Department of Emergency Medicine at Harran University Faculty of Medicine.

  4. 2013

    Associate Professor & Department Head

    Received the title of Associate Professor; chaired the Department of Emergency Medicine at Harran University between 2013 and 2016.

  5. 2016

    Founder — Emergency Medicine Clinic, Gazi Yaşargil TRH

    Founded and led the Emergency Medicine Clinic at Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital in Diyarbakır until 2020.

  6. 2020

    Professor — Mardin Artuklu University

    Founded the Department of Emergency Medicine at Mardin Artuklu University Faculty of Medicine; the first professor of emergency medicine to serve in Mardin.
