What Is Ozone Therapy and When Is It Applied?
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Tahir Gökdemir · 16 July 2026 · 4 min read
Ozone therapy is the application of a medical-grade ozone-oxygen mixture to the body in controlled doses. The aim is to improve tissue oxygen utilization, stimulate the antioxidant defense system, and reduce chronic inflammation.
How is it applied?
The most common method is major autohemotherapy: a small amount of blood taken from the patient is enriched with medical ozone and reinfused intravenously. Minor autohemotherapy, intra-articular, and subcutaneous local applications may also be preferred based on the physician's assessment.
When can it be supportive?
Chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, circulatory disorders, and immune system support are the areas where ozone therapy is most frequently sought. Ozone therapy does not replace existing medical treatment; it is planned as a complement to it, under physician supervision.
A detailed examination and the necessary blood tests are performed before the application; the number of sessions and the dose are determined individually. You can reach us through the contact page to find out whether the treatment is suitable for you.
